The Goromonzi Project
is a U.S. based non-profit organization that provides food,
education and routine healthcare for orphaned and vulnerable
children in the Goromonzi District of Zimbabwe. The Goromonzi
Project was incorporated as a 501C3 organization in January
2006. As of May 2007 we have sponsors for 91 children. Our
commitment is to support programs that are locally sustainable,
environmentally sound, and respect the cultural values of the
community. Your sponsorship will support programs in the community
that benefit your sponsored child.
The Goromonzi Project is about
communities coming together, in the US and in Africa. It is
about providing children with the resources they need to live
happy, healthy and fulfilled lives. “I want everyone
to see Africa as a vibrant continent, full of possibility,” said
Janet Shaw, Goromonzi Project Founder. “Poverty in
Africa is not insurmountable. The end of the AIDS pandemic
is a possibility. These are great kids who enrich our lives
and the lives of our children".
