We are committed
to facilitate partnership programs between the US and Africa
that are based on the Goromonzi Project model. Leaders in communities
near Goromonzi have heard and seen what we are doing and have
invited us to expand into their areas. People in the US have
been inspired by what we are doing and have taken it upon themselves
to start up similar programs in Somalia, South Africa and Nigeria.
We offer to help communities in the US and Africa identify
the community they would like to work with. We offer to share
our knowledge for what works best in promoting programs that
are locally sustainable, environmentally sound, and respect
the cultural values of the community while at the same time
promoting local leadership and self sufficiency.
People in other communities in the
US can copy the Goromonzi Project and use some of the strategies
we have used successfully in other areas of Zimbabwe and
elsewhere in sub-Saharan Africa. There are 13.2 million orphans
in this region of the world so there is plenty of opportunity.
The Goromonzi Project model provides an opportunity for direct
contact between sponsor and child. As a recent visitor to
Goromonzi said, “In
Goromonzi, such a little bit of money goes such a long way!”
If you are interested in starting your own project please
